DIRECTOR & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
Jon founded Styles Group and has expertly led the team for 20 years, earning a strong reputation for his thorough approach, ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, and commitment to delivering exceptional value to clients.
With over 20 years of experience in the acoustics industry since 2001, Jon excels at integrating acoustic advice into the resource management framework. He actively participates in resource management reform and shares his extensive knowledge by delivering training courses to resource management professionals across New Zealand. Jon’s deep understanding of how technical advice on noise and vibration is applied in the resource management framework ensures clients receive practical and effective solutions.

KELLY LEEMEYER
SENIOR CONSULTANT
Kelly effectively applies her broad skill set in acoustics and resource management to provide tailored and practical solutions for clients.
Since joining Styles Group in 2013, she has developed significant expertise in construction noise and vibration, skillfully managing projects from the consenting stage through to post-consent monitoring. Kelly’s key skills include the measurement and prediction of environmental noise and vibration, including computer noise modelling, and the preparation of construction noise and vibration management plans. Her hands-on experience allows her to find effective solutions for clients’ unique challenges.

JAMIE EXETER
PRINCIPAL
Jamie plays a vital role at Styles Group, providing practical solutions for clients and project teams. As a Principal, he expertly measures and predicts environmental noise and vibration, rigorously assesses potential noise and vibration effects, and ensures project quality through meticulous project management. Jamie regularly undertakes peer review work for Local Government Authorities nationwide and has contributed to numerous large-scale environmental noise and vibration projects across New Zealand since joining Styles Group in 2008. His expertise also includes interpreting permitted standards, drafting consent conditions, and providing valuable noise and vibration training to project and council teams.

DANIEL WINTER
SENIOR CONSULTANT
Daniel offers a comprehensive understanding of local government regulatory services and resource management, which he effectively applies to his work at Styles Group. Since joining the team in 2018, he has successfully expanded his skills and knowledge to serve a diverse range of clients across New Zealand in both the private and public sectors. Daniel’s expertise encompasses the measurement, prediction, and assessment of environmental noise and vibration, peer review work for Local Government Authorities, and the preparation and delivery of noise training programs to local government authorities. His previous experience includes over 14 years at Auckland Council, where he held leadership and specialist positions in environmental health, acoustics and noise control.

MATTHEW PINE
PRINCIPAL
Matt is a preeminent expert in the field of underwater noise effects, bringing diverse experience in acoustic monitoring of marine mammals, sound source verification, and advanced underwater noise modelling to Styles Group. He delivers valuable policy expertise and prepares expert evidence for council hearings, playing a key role in the development of underwater noise management strategies. Matt’s extensive research background includes a Ph.D. in Marine Science (Underwater Bioacoustics) and postdoctoral research fellowships focused on predicting noise effects on marine mammals and fish.

GEMMA SANDS
CONSULTANT
Gemma is an integral part of the Styles Group team, providing project management, quality assurance, and valuable assistance in the preparation of policy reviews and environmental noise assessments. Since joining Styles Group in 2018, she has contributed to numerous significant projects throughout New Zealand, including District Plan changes, reviews, and master-planning processes, as well as a wide range of environmental noise assessments. Gemma’s planning background, with over ten years of experience in policy analysis, resource consents, and infrastructure planning, ensures that Styles Group’s technical acoustics advice is robust, easily understood, and seamlessly integrated into the relevant resource management framework.
